Steve DAnner

Picture
Two people have said things that stuck with me all these years.
1. A stranger in a gallery told me
"artists have their own sense of logic".
2. In school, my art teacher used to say,
"art is the utilization of the accidental".
I found early on in life that I don't think like most people.
Fortunately I had a career as a retail display artist and designer.
This provided an opportunity for me to use  my illogical way of thinking and there was always an accident needing to be addressed.
There is a moment or moments in the art I create where an accident is responsible for the outcome of the piece.
This accident creates a solution to a problem that allows the mind to be challenged and the work to improve.  So, what does all this mean?

It’s better not to think too much and go with the flow.
